Tl*the contact owns a 2006 buick lacrosse. While driving approximately 5 MPH the steering intermediate shaft broke. He stated that he had no control of the vehicle. He engaged the brakes and crashed into a curb. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer. The dealer advised him that the steering intermediate shaft and sir coil had broken on the vehicle. The dealer replaced the intermediate shaft, sir coil and realigned the vehicle. The vehicle was repaired.
NHTSA# 618086. Buick TSB # 01-02-32-001 third replacement of shaft since purchased new in 02/2006. Vehicle has 19,635 miles 7,048 miles 1st replacement, 14,600 2nd replacement, 19,635 3rd replacement (02/10/2009). Parts kept by dealer.
