What owners wrote

The left front tire of this vehicle failed on the date indicated. Less than 4 hours later, the right front tire of the same vehicle failed. The failure appears to be a sidewall defect. There are no apparent punctures. The tires exhibit a tear, from inside out, in the sidewall. Unsubstantiated runmor from a tire installer is that he "sees this probelm on this tire all of the time". (tiresize: p225/55r17)( DOT number: tire size: p225/55r17 )

December 2000

On three of the four tires the steel belts are showing through. Tires were replaced. Technician called tire "bald" from running out of alignment. There were no severe indications of mis-alignment wear. Only one tire failed as described. Inspection revealed same belt exposure on two more tires.
