I was driving on [XXX] in the Dallas area when the parking brake suddenly and unexpectedly engaged. I tried to disengage it manually using the button to the left of the steering wheel, but it would not disengage. Due to the higher speed of being on a state highway, the vehicle quickly became unstable and within a few seconds the brakes locked up and I went into a spin crossing two lanes in the process.
The contact owns a 2023 Fisker Ocean. The contact stated while driving 15 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed, and the contact heard an abnormal squeaking sound. In addition, the contact stated the vehicle stalled and lost motive power with low battery warning light illuminated. The contact stated that there was a smoke odor coming from the vehicle when the vehicle lost motive power. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after 20 minutes, but the failure persisted.
