Reported at 19,000 miles, December 2015 CrashInjury

Steering wheel springs/snaps (hard) in the opposite direction that the wheel is being turned and steering control is lost. When this does not shut the engine off, the only way to regain steering control is to restart the vehicle. When this does cause the engine to shut off the steering is restored with the restart. The stabili trak indicator appears just for an instant on the dic when this happens. Note: this is not the 'service stabili trak' indicator but more like stabili trak has been activated indicator.
