We brought this car in may 0f 1999. At 4,000 miles the transmission blew a large hole and almost caused us too have an accident. This problem was fixed for us, at no cost to us. Under warranty. On 12/30/99 we had the car towed to the dealer because the car was making a clicking noise. When they did an inspection they told us that the car need a new transmission. They told us that this time it was because of abuse. The car is driven by myself, my husband & also my son. This repair we had to pay for.
The vehicle is a 1999 hyundai accent and I purchased it new. On july 2, 2004 I got in my car and turned it on. When I tried to put the car in reverse it would not move. The gear shift is stuck in 'park' and will not move unless the override switch is depressed. A technical service bulletin was issued by hyundai for this exact issue (#99-40-017), so they already know that the problem exists.
