What owners wrote
1. One day just stops working, or intermittently functioning. 2. 3rd brake light, it ether can be totally dead or intermittently go out. 3. Replacement of totally new LED strip , replacing it with oem will cause the problem to occur with time. Due to faulty electronics which prematurely fail if you look at any 03/04 model g35 their 3rd brake light is most likely out. 05/06 are also experiencing this issue. I myself have a 2005 g35 and the light works intermittently.
Hmsl (third brake light) is completely inoperative. One LED had been out for two years, then the entire unit failed. Infiniti dealers sell the replacement unit for over $200, plus that sum in labor for the dealer. This is a common unit failure in the g35 models, according to internet searches and observation of numerous vehicles on the road. It is a safety issue that has remained unaddressed for years.
