What owners wrote
I was driving my 2008 infiniti g35 through a heavy rainstorm at 11:30 am, going east on glade rd., boca raton, fl., in the middle lane at approximately 35 MPH, when a car in the left lane of this three lane rd., cut me off. I hit the brakes hard and my brakes completely locked up, putting me into a skid onto the right swale and my car, skidding violently, smashed into a tree. Although the car hit the tree almost head-on, only the left front side air bag went off. The steering wheel bag never went off.
According to the us government, infiniti recalled 2008 g35 for passenger side air bag problem associated with a sensor in the front passenger seat. Air bag warning light on the dash board keeps blinking. The dealer said the recall has to be VIN specific, and thus my car was not subject to the recall. Isn't a recall caused by a common or generic problem that exists in most of if not all cars of same model and same year? In this case 2008 g35?
