Reported at 28,000 miles, June 2013 FireInjury

As I was pulling out from a green light, the manual transmission shift lever was violently thrown out of 1st gear into neutral. The gear shift lever actually left a small bruise on my right hand. I contacted the local dealership. And was told that a TSB was out addressing the issue. I was told that the "inner" shift boot needed to be removed, and/or replaced. I did exactly as they said and removed the inner shift. I did not replace the outer as I wanted to see if this solution worked. It did not.
