Takata recall, NHTSA recall no. 16v384, lincoln recall no. 16s26 11-23-16, I turned steering wheel to begin to park in shopping mall garage. Driver airbag immediately deployed prior to impact which caused me to hit the concrete wall ahead. There were no other passengers in the vehicle. Recall notice received july 2016 on passenger airbag. Obviously, there is a problem with the driver airbag also.
Takata inflators: we haven't had a problem yet but the last few years the front driver's and passenger's airbags have rattling noises when on bumpy roads. Hearing the rattling noises makes me believe there are parts loose in both which could put the driver and passenger in danger. I have been patiently waiting for a recall. If I choose to have them replaced on my own, will I be reimbursed?
