What owners wrote

2 complaints: I took the car to a mazda dealer 5 times starting back in 2003. 3 times for recalls ,and on each occasion had brought to the attention of the service representative e that the rpms would just all of a sudden go up rapidly, and the only why to stop it was shut it off. Of course this was always while waiting at lights when I would first start the car in the morning but now was at least one week. They put it on the computer back when it first started and said it was the PCM modular.

Reported at 21,000 miles, July 2007 Injury

I own a 2001 mazda tribute. The vehicle stalls unpredictably. The mazda dealer and mazda corporate are suggesting that the two power train control modules (the original) and the replacement modules are causing the vehicle to stall. If this is correct, then there must be some inherent defect with these pcms that must be investigated.
