What owners wrote
Tl* the contact owned a 2008 mitsubishi eclipse. While driving approximately 55 MPH, the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard when depressed and the vehicle continued to accelerate. The vehicle spun out of control and the transmission shifted independently into the reverse position, which caused the vehicle to crash into a tree. The contact sustained injuries to the head, right arm, and fingers. The contact also suffered from a large hematoma on the right hip. The front passenger sustained head injuries.
As I was driving down a congested road, I tried to come to a stop and the peddle went all the way down to the floorboard. I tried pulling the emergency brake and that didn't work either. At that point I avoided a collision by going on the median and down shifted. The car, luckily, is a 5 speed. My husband replaced the brake pads a month or so before that, so he checked to be sure the lines were bled correctly. Which they were. This was the first instance. Today was the scariest.
