What owners wrote

Recently (07/10/10) my car just made a loud knocking noise blew a big smoke on the highway at 65MPH--the fire men and police that showed up believe it threw a rod because it leaked oil everywhere, had the oil changed exactly 5 days prior.

My 17-year-old daughter has a 2005 nissan altima. A week ago the car began shutting itself off while she is driving it. The codes said we needed to replace the crankshaft sensor and we did so. This did not stop the problem. On the way home from the auto parts store today her car stopped and she was almost rear-ended by a truck. After researching this problem on the internet it appears that nissan altimas have a history of this sort of problem. Someone is going to get killed if this problem is not fixed.
