What owners wrote

Drove and parked. Smelled odor; I thought it was from the car next to mine. I then went inside the building. Ten minutes later, someone said a car was on fire; it was mine. The fire started in the engine compartment and totaled the car.

Reported at 70,000 miles, December 2002 Fire

I had drove approx. 2 miles, parked car, went inside, 10 to 15 minutes later, our friend ran in, our car was on fire. Since this occurrence, I have found out about the recall (calls), engine and engine cooling. We have never received these recalls. The description given in ea07008, seems to match. This vehicle is a lose, the fire melted everything but the metal, the tires are even melted on the front. When we ran outside, the fire was in the engine compartment.
