I had an single vehicle accident while visiting Oregon that I have not been able to explain. I have a 2023 Ram Eco Diesel that has a newly issued recall for the Electronic Stability Control failing. My vehicle left the road way and down an embankment after braking for some Wildlife crossing. When I applied the brakes my vehicle went off the left side of the road. The brakes never locked up.
The contact owns a 2023 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel seized, with the power steering warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the wiring harness connection related to the steering wheel had failed and needed to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure.
