What is wrong

Daimler Vans USA, LLC (DVUSA) is recalling certain 2019 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (Platform 907) vehicles equipped with high-beam assist. A software error in the control unit may prevent the driver from being able to switch off the high beams when intended.

The risk

Being unable to turn off the high beams may result in oncoming traffic being blinded by the vehicle's lights, increasing the risk of crash.

The fix

DVUSA will notify owners, and Mercedes-Benz or Freightliner Sprinter dealers will update the control unit software, free of charge. The recall began June 14, 2019. Owners may contact DVUSA customer service at 1-[removed]. DVUSA's number for this recall is VS3FERNLI.

Notes from the manufacturer
