What is wrong

Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2016-2018 AMG GT vehicles. The bonding between the carbon-fiber driveshaft and the flange may be insufficient, which could result in driveshaft separation.

The risk

A separated driveshaft may cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Dealers will inspect and replace the carbon-fiber driveshaft, as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed October 15, 2021. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-[removed]. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2021090008.
