What is wrong

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2023 Rebel 300 (CMX300) motorcycles. The right engine crank house cover was incorrectly painted, allowing the press-fit plug to fall out.

The risk

Oil can leak onto the exhaust pipe or rear tire without the plug, increasing the risk of a fire, crash, or injury.

The fix

Dealers will replace the right crank case cover, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 25, 2023. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-[removed]. Honda's number for this recall is KP2.

Notes from the manufacturer
