What is wrong

Vehicle description: sport utility vehicles. The power assisted steering pump pulley can fail resulting in a loss of steering power assist. If vehicle operation is continued, engine overheating/damage could result.

The risk

The loss of steering assist could increase the risk of a vehicle crash.

The fix

Dealers will install a power steering pump/pulley assembly.

Land rover recall no. D385.owner notification is expected to begin during october 1999.
