What owners wrote

For some time both rear struts in my car have been making a loud clunking noise. It has gotten worse to the point where they will now get stuck in a certain position. This can be very dangerous when driving at highway speeds as it makes the car wander all over the road. I have complained to the dealership and to subaru of america with no resolution. This is a very common problem with many of these particular cars. They have been like this since the car had about 25,000 miles on it.

Reported at 25,000 miles, May 2004

While driving along a smooth, straight stretch of us-12 the right lower control arm broke at the hanger bracket. See [link removed] control arm had been "rustproofed" as part of the 2011 recall. At one point along the break the metal measures less than 4 hundredths of an inch (0.0355") - see [link removed] the sway bar link also broke.
