Reported at 280,000 miles, October 2020 Crash

At 7 years old, my toyota avalon is leaking from the body of the rack and pinion gear. Dealer service states that 'this happens'. Concerned that leak may cause loss of power steering while driving causing driver to over or understeer the vehicle. Could be considered for a possible safety issue.
