What owners wrote
In june 2013 I was approaching an interstate entrance ramp. As I slowed down (foot on the brake) to make the right turn onto the ramp, the vehicle suddenly accelerated, causing the rear end to "fish tail" around, jumping the curb on the right side of the ramp and sending the vehicle down the embankment. I was able to get the vehicle to stop before hitting the fence at the bottom of the hill. Since this first incident in june 2013, the vehicle has had three more incidents in june, july and august of 2014.
I own a 2005 toyota tacoma. On several occasions the vehicle has shut down when I attempt to proceed from a stop. This occurs while I am in traffic. The vehicle may or may not start for some time after that. If it does start, it will idle ok but when I step on the gas pedal it shuts down. After continually starting for a few times it may run ok for a while. I had it serviced at a dealer the first time and they ended up replacing the computer system.
