What owners wrote
My truck lost drivability while I was going 60 I ran into a ditch to stop. It hads two codes . I took it in they replaced my rack n pinion. Check engine light came on . Mechanic said he could not work on it anymore because of the rust. To much corrosion he would be risking liability for other parts getting damaged because of all the rust. Took it to mike Shaw to have frame tested. It passed they said.
Emissions air pump valve went out with 60,200 miles on the truck. The truck is bone stock and has been very well maintained. After research its seems that numerous people are having issues with this same exact part on the 2012 tacomas. Toyota extended a recall on the tundra's because of this part, but not the tacomas. The truck is currently in limp mode and will not go past 40MPH, and the dealer wants $1,075 to fix it.
