What owners wrote

The reason I decided to send this report is because I have seen this problem with the same type of vehicle before, I own a driving school with 4 toyota yaris from 2007-2009 and had a problem with a burn smell and smoke coming out from the power switch, we turn the car off and when we took the door panel apart we notice the power switch had burn. We purchase another power switch thinking that we did not wanted the car catch a fire. Now about 2 weeks ago we experience the same issue with another yaris.

June 2012 Fire

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 toyota yaris. The contact stated that while driving 25 MPH, smoke emitted from the driver's side window. The vehicle was merged onto another street and the fire department was notified. The fire department extinguished the fire and reported that it was an electrical fire. The door panel was removed because all of the wires were melted. This caused the window to remain open. A report was available if needed. There were no injuries. The dealer was not notified.
