Takata recall -- audi issued the recall in jan 2017 and still does not have replacement parts available. Meanwhile, I am unable to take my wife or other family/friends anywhere in my car because I fear for their lives (based on the recall letter's warning of injury/death). I called audi of america twice, and they have not started sourcing parts. I called the dealership, and they have no received parts, nor have they replaced any takata airbags to date.

I believe this is the same problem as recall #18v370000 but my car is not in list of recalled cars. With an adult in the passenger seat, a warning message says that the because of a malfunction, the air bags are turned off. A few seconds to a minute or two later another message says the air bags are on. This sequence can appear many times in an hour of driving or not appear at all for several days. I have verified with the dealer that when the message says the airbags are off, they really are off.
