A few complaints as filed, shortened and with personal details removed. The first ones are among the most serious reports for this model year; the rest are typical.
Parking brake disengaged on 3 occasions: button popped off parking brake handle, as if shot from a gun, and car rolled backward. 1st instance was prior to august 2012 but no damage because I was still in the car and stopped it. 2nd instance in aug. 2012 car rolled backward into another vehicle in a parking lot, resulting in damage to my rear bumper and extensive damage to other vehicle, which was parked. 3rd instance on 5/11/13, car rolled backward down driveway.
Audi 2002 tt cylinder coil failure while driving. Occurred on two separate occasion (2 of 4 coils have gone bad). Unsafe to go at high speed on highway and experience sudden failure and drop in power.
Audi tt 2002 dash pod recalled in ireland and britain. Interference and erratic performance with instrument gauges and lights. I am having same problem and vehicle only has 30k miles. Can result in unexpected shut down on highway. Dealer says car computer does not indicate any problems and customer, me, ends up paying for each malfunctioning component as just "normal wear and tear".
