Wife starts driving home and engine stops running, pulls off of road ,car won't start,she calls her husband and thinks the car is out of gas. He puts 2 gls in and car won't start, adds another 2gls,car won't start, calls tow truck, truck lifts front of car and there is a large spot of gas on the ground, thinking there is a hole in the tank ,car is towed to garage, new tank is ordered, 4days later we find the problem is the wiring harness burned and melted, outside of fuel pump burned and melted,top part of fuel…
I own a 95 cadillac that had less than 3000 miles on it when I got it in 95. In 2000 the fuel pump shorted out in the fuel tank burning up the fuel pump and the wiring harness going to it. I had the car repaired at stutzman cadillac in winchester va. In november 2005 the same thing happened again. I called cadillac main office and talked to told them about what had happened. The only reply I got from them was they were sorry that I was having problems with the car.
