While in normal driving conditions, if not better than average conditions including long trips, every 3000 miles or so, the front rotors warp from the heat generated over short periods of time with full amounts of brake pad. Many mechanics and service managers admitt to this problem. The problem is described to me as due to the rotors being too thin and the pads having too much metal makeup. An "engineering problem" as it was unofficially refered to.
My 2001 camaro with less than 37k miles was taken to the dealership for new brakes. No reason I took car to dealership other than I wanted new brakes though nothing squeaked & I had no trouble. I did not expect to be told I needed new rotors as the dealership informed me the current rotors were too thin and I needed to replace them as well as the pads and brake linings. I was stunned as the car is hardly driven but a mere 8 miles round trip to work & back the last two years.
