What owners wrote
4/19/08 at 4:30 a.m. Est. I was awakened by a loud explosion and went outside to find my 2005 chevrolet silverado 1500 completely engulfed in flames.
I had to replace the cannistor evaporation solenoid because of repeated check engine sensor. This cost me $330. The mechanic told me this is a retrofit part that chevy has come up with which tells me that chevy is fully aware of this very common problem with this truck. I know of 4 other people who have the same truck and the same problem. I want chevy to reimburse me for this repair.
