Reported at 17,000 miles, February 2006 Injury

I was driving down a switchback and the right front 1/2 of the axel and wheel (tire and rim) separated, leaving me riding on the right tie-rod and bumper. The axel and tire/rim bounced off the hood and slammed down the right side of the truck taking out all the glass and damaging the roof and side. I parked it by the side of the road by pushing the emergency break, if I had pushed the main break I would have been in the left lane and over the side of the mountain.
