My 1999 chev p/u tailgate cable broke causing minor injury. I noticed an article recalling 2000-2004 gm's. My truck was less than 3 years old when the cable failed. 1999 GM vehicles should be included in the recall.
After sitting on the tailgate the cable snapped. There were no injuries. . Recall 04v129000 was issued for 2000 and 2004 models. The part number was the same for the 1999 and 2000 models.
