What owners wrote
We have had numerous intermittent electrical problems(tachometer quits, window wont roll up,heated seat quit working, rear window wiper quit)then on 9-13-02 the transmission failed twice within a few minutes time, the second time resulted in a car accident with injuries.
On 2/28/05 my 2001 chrysler town and country engine light activated at the same time I noticed a burning chemical smell (burning transmission fluid). This was a prelude to a blown transmission which is what happened. The garage could not move my vehicle due to the wheel lock. I have 79,000 miles and have had nothing but problems with this vehicle and based upon many web boards I am not alone.
