What owners wrote
I have a 2007 dodge nitro and after filling up my gas tank the nozzle clicked and there comes fuel gushing out all over the place. It happens every single time I fill my tank with gas.
When fueling the car, the auto shutoff does not work and fuel spews out of the tank. This is most likely caused by a valve in the gas tank that is there to prevent an explosion in the event of a rollover accident. The valve is defective, and thus the gas spills out, and the car could possibly explode in a rollover accident. I had taken it to a dealership about a year ago and all they would do is clean out the filter. That did not resolve the problem.
