What owners wrote

Thought the guy in front of me was going to go through a yellow light, so I figured I would follow in suit. Then he just suddenly stopped, with me hitting him directly in the rearend. My seatbelts did not deploy, as my head hit and broke the windshield, and obviously the airbag did not go off. Suffering chest bruising and trouble breathing.

February 2002 CrashInjury

1995 ford explorer driver's seat belt buckle return spring appears to have suddenly broken, same as described in prior odi action no. Ea02011. Serious safety issue created: appears to latch, then unlatches suddenly while driving. Problem occurs frequently, so buckle/belt will be replaced asap.

Reported at 85,000 miles, May 2004
