What owners wrote

The engine on my 2003 envoy xl caught fire and the car was completely engulfed by the fire. The incident occurred after driving up a road rising 1500 vertical feet over a distance of 3.5 miles. No warning lights came on before someone outside the car alerted us to the fire. The vehicle had 36000 miles on it and had recently had all the recommended service completed including oil change and transmission and fuel system flushes.

Reported at 36,000 miles, March 2006 Fire

My car will shut off when I am either turning or slowing down without any warning, I put the car in neutral, turn the key off then on again and it starts like nothing happened. The engine doesn't show any warning lights it just shuts off. This has happened now about 6 times. I don't have the money to take it to the dealer, but if I am given an idea of what to look for I can take it to my mechanic who is very qualified and did replace a sensor that went bad. Please help
