We were given a 1992 GMC jimmy by my father, and along with the car came all the corresponding paperwork. Included in the paperwork was a "safety recall notice" from GMC dated may 2000, recall # g99041-s. This letter describes an ABS brake failure resulting in abnormal stopping distances and the required repairs. When we got the car, I asked my father if the repair was performed and he stated "that when he called the dealership for an appointment they had no record of the recall so the repair was not performed".
