What owners wrote

New vehicle only 6 days old, driven only 350 some miles, while on local road at speed limit (30) began to vibrate, unable to control causing me to swerve into oncoming lane then onto shoulder. When vehicle stopped it was found both front and rear drivers side tire had beads had separated. Towed to firestone dealer who upon checking found passenger side tires only at 40lbs, GMC door sticker states 55lb front, 80lb rear. Dealer admits to inflating only to 40-45lbs.

I have a GMC sierra 1550hd truck. Purchased in 2001. It currently has 62,000 miles. It came with firestone 245x75x16 tires. Since I have had this vehicle both rear tires of the same description has had failures within months of each other. The tires developed large humps on the tread area while driving at highway speed causing the vehicle to shudder drastically and become unstable.

Reported at 62,000 miles, February 2004
