What owners wrote

I was driving a new 2004 honda cr-v, stopped at a stop sign and then turned left onto a one way street. I saw an SUV in front of me and applied the brakes. Nothing happened. I hit the vehicle in the rear. That vehicle was knocked forward. I applied the brakes again. Nothing happened. I hit the vehicle again in the rear. The air bags deployed. I yanked my vehicle to the right, and stepped on the brakes again. Nothing happened.

Reported at 2,000 miles, December 2004 CrashInjury

Stepped on the accelerator to pass another vehicle and throttle stuck at full speed. Pumped accelerator to no avail. Applied emergency brake and, literally, stood with both feet on the brakes. Engine still raced at full speed, and I was having difficulty controlling the vehicle. River on my right and oncoming traffic on my left. Saw a large, open yard and drove the car at high speed into the yard and turned off the key.
