I was driving a 2024 Honda Prologue Elite and was coming to an ordinary stop at a safe distance behind another car at a red light. With my foot continuously and firmly pressed on the brake pedal, a brake alert/warning appeared on the dashboard screen accompanied by beeping, and the emergency brakes automatically engaged, stopping the car abruptly. Then, almost immediately, the vehicle suddenly lurched forward without warning, striking the vehicle ahead of me.
