What owners wrote

My 2013 Hyundai Veloster caught fire spontaneously while it was turned off and parked in my garage. The fire originated in the engine compartment, specifically around the ABS module area. The vehicle has an open and incomplete safety recall for this exact issue (Recall 251 / NHTSA Campaign 23V-651000). The Mission Fire Department responded to the scene to extinguish the fire

September 2026 FireInjury

I have a 2013, hyundai veloster. I was driving approximately 65 MPH when a loud banging noise started and the car started to turn off with engine light flashing. I could hear something banging around inside the front of the car and then the black smoke started under the hood/exhaust system. I was able to pull car off of road and have it towed to hyundai worldcar in live oak tx. They want to charge me $5000 for a used engine and that quote includes the labor cost.
