2000 Jaguar S-Type transmission problems

Dt*: the contact stated, the gear shift would not release from the park position when parked on an incline. The manufacturer suggested rocking the vehicle to release the vehicle from park. The contact was injured, on one occasion, while rocking the vehicle as instructed. The manufacturer suggested using the hand brake before placing the vehicle into park. When accelerating the automatic transmission slipped from 1st gear into neutral and would not shift into 2nd gear.

I own a jaguar 2000 s. I bought it in august 2003. I loved the car and it worked great. On april 11, 2004, I parked my car on a slight incline with the park break on. The car would not shift out of park. While trying to shift into reverse, the gear shifter broke. I was stranded with my two children. My car was towed to jaguar dealership in portland, oregon. They pushed on back of the car to get it to shift. The car is on warranty, so they replaced the shifter.
