What owners wrote
Tl* the contact owned a 2010 jeep commander. The contact stated while his wife was parked at the supermarket his wife attempted to start the vehicle twice with no avail. The third time she attempted she stepped out the vehicle after she smelled abnormal fumes and someone alerted her that there were flames coming from under the vehicle. The fire was located on the front passenger side where the engine was located. The fire department was called and extinguished the flames. There were no injuries.
The jeep will stall out while decelerating every few months for the last couple of years. Most of the time it has been while approaching an intersection from speeds of 30-45 MPH, so I have learned to pop the transmission into neutral to restart the car while in motion. This is horribly scary and dangerous since I obviously cannot steer during the process, and have, at least four times, been making a left-hand turn across traffic.
