What owners wrote

On 10/10/2024, my Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (hybrid) had a battery fire at my home. Luckily, the fire department got it controlled before any additional property or any people were harmed, but under slightly different circumstances (middle of the night or parked in the garage) the house would have burned and my entire family could have been killed. After this incident, I read that Jeep/Stallantis issued a recall for this issue 10/1, but no timely attempt to contact owners was made.

October 2024 Fire

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V720000 (Electrical System); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that at start-up, the power steering, stability control, and check engine warning lights illuminated.
