I was stopped at a red light with my foot on the brake, and had been for at least 30 seconds. The jeep all the sudden revved and started moving forward. I continued to push on the brake but the jeep didn't stop. I attempted to turn the jeep to the right to avoid the car in front of me, but was unable and slammed into the back of the car. Despite my foot being on the brake the jeep continued to rev even after I hit the car. I put the jeep in park and it stopped revving. A police report was filed.
