2014 Kia Sorento engine problems

Tl* the contact owned a 2014 kia sorento. The contact stated while driving another driver was honking to inform the contact that there were flames underneath the vehicle. The front passenger opened the door and confirmed that there was a fire. The contact who was the driver and the front passenger were able to come to a stop and exit the vehicle. The passenger sustained burn to the arm and back that required medical attention. The driver also required medical attention due to the smoke inhalation.

Car just stopped running while driving down the street. Engine light came on. I restarted car, drove it to a pep boys, they plugged it in to get the error code for why the engine light came on, but by that time the light had gone off so they weren't able to get the code. I took it to the kia dealership I bought it from, but the service person was dismissive. This was a year ago, but now I see that there is an impending recall on that model.
