The contact owns a 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 MPH, the air bags in the vehicle unexpectedly deployed and the front passenger side wheel, hub, and the ball joints detached, causing the vehicle to flip over. No warning lights were illuminated. A Police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and was later declared a total loss. The contact stated that two occupants inside the vehicle sustained injuries. Medical attention was sought.
While driving my vehicle it shutdown and I rolled to a stop on the side of the road. It would not start back up and had to be towed to the dealer. I was told it may be a blown motor but after additional diagnosis it was the determined to be that the timing chain broke and needed to be replaced with the tensioner. The vehicle has only 83,000 miles on it.
Recall p091 - our vehicle was not included in this recall however it suffers from the same dangerous safety issue. The vehicle shuts down while driving, even doing 70MPH on the freeway. It appears to shift into neutral, with the dash saying "gearbox fault" and the gear shifter locking up. The car no longer revs and we have to coast to the side of the road. Very dangerous and we have had several near misses, including with a semi truck on the freeway.
