Reported at 96,882 miles, June 2012 CrashInjury

Brakes are faulty on ford 500 and mercury montego. They disintegrate early with only 10,000-12,000 miles on them. This causes multiple replacements, and is dangerous when they are okay one day, and gone the next after ford dealers cleared them at a check-up just a few miles earlier.

Reported at 22,000 miles, October 2004

Trunk pistons are too weak. Thinking the trunk lid was all the way up, I leaned in to the trunk on several occasions, only to bang my head on the trunk lid. It is my opinion that the trunk pistons are not raising the trunk high enough and injury to the head can occur.

Reported at 12,000 miles, January 2008

I have experienced a sudden unexpected lunge when backing out of a parking space after placing the vehicle in reverse on several occasions. You can hear the engine RPM increase quickly, then decrease just as quickly when this happens. This typically occurs when the vehicle is placed in reverse and the wheel is being turned and the my foot is on the brake pedal. It has also occurred again when the vehicle is put into drive after going from reverse and the wheel is turned.
