July 2001 Death

On march 31, 2001, my husband and I purchased a 2001 eclipse for our 17 year old son, to carry him through highschool and college. Around 3 hours later he braked to avoid hitting 2 dogs, the left front brake locked up and the others did nothing. This caused the car to swing around at 180 degrees and go backwards into a ditch hitting a steel culbert. The police stated that the cause of the accident was the brakes. If working properly, the car could have been controlled. No ticket was given to our son.
