What owners wrote
A few complaints as filed, shortened and with personal details removed. The first ones are among the most serious reports for this model year; the rest are typical.
I had a car accident on 1-1-2006. I had a frontal collision in a 2005 nissan 350z. The passengers airbag deployed, but the drivers did not. Which resulted in a fractured sternum.
Tl*the contact owns a 2005 nissan 350z. While driving 45 MPH on wet pavement, the contact was cut off by another vehicle. He lost control of the vehicle, struck a curb, and crashed into a tree. The contact sustained minor injuries. The vehicle filpped over and none of the air bags deployed. A police report was filed. The air bag indicator was illuminated two days prior to the crash. The dealer stated that they would inspect the vehicle. The failure and current mileages were 52,300.
I have a 2005 nissan 350z, the struts holding the heavy rear hatch have failed to keep the hatch open gradually deteriorating and had hit both my wife and I in the head very badly causing bloody gashes in our heads. I contacted nissan and they first said they would repair it free, then changed their mind. It started as an intermittent problem that lead up to a total failure. When I brought the car to nissan, I showed the service advisor my bloody gash and the reason plus the loose mechanism for manual release.
Owner of nissan 350z roadster. Car is in mint condition only has 39,000+ miles and is 10 years old. Never had any problems other than tires, battery, brakes replacement over years. All of a sudden airbag light starting flashing on dash. Took to dealer that did "diagnosis" for $100+ and said module in driver side bag code b1134 needs replacing for $1200.00. Driver is unemployed at moment and laid-off. Dealership just said "drive safely" when leaving and deciding not to shell out $1200 at moment.
Air bag lights have been flashing for 3 years whether parked or in motion, dealership says $1500 to diagnose but believes bags are not functioning and advises to "drive safely" if I decide not to repair. Not on recall list which is unreal this is a safety issues as bags will not go off if in a collision according to dealership.
