I was at the top of the street when I tried to press on the brakes to slow down because of a red light ahead. The brakes malfunctioned and my car accelerated faster. I then stepped on my e-brakes and my car continued to go faster instead of slowing down. The next thing I remember is rear ending the back of a SUV. I have anti-lock brakes and they did not work either.
Tl* the contact owned a 2015 nissan altima. The contact stated he was coming to a stop to make a left turn, when another vehicle t- boned him on the passenger side. The air bags did not deploy. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact sustained injuries on his lower back and right knee and had received physical therapy and still seeking medical assistance to see if needing a surgery for a sciatic nerve.
Tl* the contact owned a 2015 nissan altima. While driving approximately 55 MPH, the driver lost control of the vehicle. It traveled down a hill before crashing into a tree. The driver's seat air bag did not deploy. The driver suffered contusions, abrasions, and lacerations to the left hip and pelvis area and an injured left leg that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 2,700.
I bought a used 2015 nissan altima on 6/23/2017 with approx. 47,000. Around 6/30/17 the car would not accelerate while driving over 40MPH and the RPM was going all the way over to 8 & 9. The car sounded like it was not shifting into gear. I had to pull over, cut off the car and crank it back up again. There have been several times since then, when I'm at a light that the car will not accelerate over 5-10 MPH and I have the pedal pushed all the way down to the floor.
Intermittent problem the dealer could not duplicate since 25k miles. The car revs and loses speed. Sometimes I press the gas pedal and it will not go for 2-5 secomds. Recently going up a hill the car rolled backwards while I was pressing the gas pedal. Turning the car off can "cure" the symptom until it randomly has the same problem. It is difficult driving in traffic, or deciding to make left turns because I can not depend on acceleration
