Tl* the contact owns a 2010 pontiac g6. The contact stated that the steering wheel locked while driving 35 MPH. When the failure occurred the contact lost control of the vehicle, proceeded through the intersection and crashed into a curb. The steering wheel regained normal function after the vehicle was restarted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing who confirmed the failure was in the steering column power assist. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure.
I have the 2010 pontiac g6. The service ESC light came on and I lost all power steering. Also the traction light came on. I had it replaced a year ago. A week ago, it happened again. I looked to see if there is a recall on this part. Turns out there is one for the 2009 but not the 2010. The mechanic said its the same part. So if that's the case, why does the 2010 not have a recall. To have the same issue twice sounds like a problem.
